About the Alberta Basic Security Training (ABST) Program
Priority ONE Security Training brings decades of educational experience to its Alberta Security Services training program. Our flexible, 40-hour online ABST program is designed to help you master the Security Services curriculum developed by the Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, enabling you to pass the Alberta Provincial Security Services Exam successfully.
As a participant, you'll gain valuable insights into the field of Security Services, including understanding relevant laws and legislation such as the Security Services and Investigators Act, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the Criminal Code of Canada. You'll also learn how to respond effectively in emergency situations to ensure safety
To qualify for an Alberta Security Services Licence, ABST students must score 80% or higher on the exam. Successful candidates will receive an official certificate from the Alberta Ministry of Justice.
Eligibility and Admissions
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- At least 18 years old
- Good character and employment references
- No criminal record, verified by a current clear police information check (CPIC) with a vulnerable sector search
- Good health
